Plaid by MJ_Spinner

1. Open Gimp

2. Click File --> New

3. Choose any size image: 512x512 is used in this
example

4. Click advanced options (plus sign), make sure Background is selected in the Fill With option... ** Default is white** then click ok
 
   


5. Click the paint brush in the Tools box (quick key: P). Choose Brush: Circle 19 at scale 2.72 (these settings are being used in this example)

6. Make some blobs (as many as you want and in whichever colors you want)



7. Click Colors --> Info --> Smooth Palette...then ok
Width, height, and search depth options can be changed as desired. **In this example height and width are both 256**







8. Right click on the layer in the Layers box then click duplicate layer.



9. **Make sure layer named background copy is highlighted** then click Layer at the top of the window


10. Click Transform --> Rotate 90 degrees Clockwise



11. Change opacity to 50.0 (Mode in this example is Normal)
**Opacity and Mode can be adjusted as desired**

*****Optional: Image can be merged down*****
